Euro Minibasket 2006 Tournament in Krakow
24 clubs from seven countries and about 300 children took part in the Euro Minibasket Krakow 2006 basketball tournament, which ran from June 8 to 11, 2004 in the sports hall of the Academy of Physical Education.
That was the 28th edition of Minibasket in Krakow, organized for boys and girls up to age 12. The event was of a sports and promotional character, serving above all to entertain and integrate children from many countries. The key sponsor of the tournament was Metalodlew S.A., which for many years has supported sports and has helped children who want to play basketball. As part of the patronage, Krakowskie Odlewnie produced and funded commemorative castings of statuettes for the competition and provided financial support to the Organization Committee. The tournament, which was initially organized by the basketball section of the “Hutnik” Sports Club and is now organized by the Organization Committee of Minibasketball in Krakow under the presidency of Mr. Krzysztof Książek, is currently the largest international event of this type in Poland. In 27 years, around 7.5 thousand children from Poland and Europe have participated in this tournament.
